Tollywood actress Telangana Shakuntala passed away  

          The big shock for Telugu film industry, well-known Actress Telangana Shakuntala died due to cardiac arrest on Friday midnight at Narayana Hrudayalaya hospital in Suraram Jeedimetla, Hyderabad. She suffered a heart attack at her Kompally residence and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately by the time she was admitted at the hospital, doctors declared he dead due to cardiac arrest.

She was 63 and is survived by husband and two children. Telangana Shakuntala is most famous artist from Telangana for Telangana diction and punch dialogues are a rage in the Telugu film industry

She was born in a Maharastrian family in Hyderabad, India. Her father was an Army Officer and her mother a housewife. She has two sisters. Though a Marathi, she picked up the nuances of Telangana dialect and delivered them to perfection. She was a legendary theater artist, debuted with a play at Ravindra Bharathi, acted in more than 1000 plays. She was a notable character artist who did roles of villain and comedian.

Shakuntala started her career 1981 with Maa Bhumi. It was Teja’s blockbuster Nuvvu Nenu that shot Shakuntala to fame. Her last flick was Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda that was blockbuster.

The last 18 months have been particularly bad for the telugu film industry as it has lost several leading lights like ANR, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, AVS, Srihari, Uday Kiran and now Telangana Shakuntala.
